The client’s brief for this restaurant was inspired by the classic Japanese film “Spirited Away”. The story takes place in a small town that is taken over by friendly ghosts after dark. The movie shows a typical Japanese landscape, but seen through a veil of otherworldliness. Taki plays with layers, reflections, lighting and topography to deliver that metaphor, in a dining version.
