Canberra Centre, CanberraInari is chef Shaun Presland’s flagship restaurant. The brief was to create a liminal - yet warm - space that allowed for a continuous experience between drinks, Japanese informed dinners and more drinks.
To achieve this, we decided to work on the aesthetic edge of a time and place. Japan in the 1960s represents an instant of change, of optimistic innocence. The future felt around the corner, yet the tools available to materialise it were still very limited. Inari’s design language banks on this instance to bring its guests into a space that feels like no other.
